Designing for doctors and hospitals

Plenno is a healthcare startup focused on doctors and hospitals. For this project, I was hired as a consultant to get things started and build the product's design foundations, with the freedom to shape the craft around the segment's pain points.

Product

Plenno is a medical management platform with two sides: doctors who need control over their daily schedules and hospitals that need visibility into their operations.

Two months. A web platform and mobile app from zero to launch.

For doctors

Shifts, earnings, and documents in one app. Doctors know what's on their schedule this week, how much they've earned, and how much they'll receive.

Confirm pending attendance with one tap. A wallet with an available balance and a forecast for the next 60 days. A calendar by day, week, and month. No spreadsheets, no WhatsApp.

For hospitals

A real-time dashboard, geolocation-based check-in, automatic payment calculations, and audit logs.

Hospitals know who's on duty right now, get absence alerts before they become a problem, and finalize payments without spreadsheets.

System

Two products built on the same foundation. Shared components, consistent scheduling and payment logic on both sides. What changes is the perspective, not the system.

The web flow was designed with AI in V0 before a single line of production code, enabling real validation with doctors and UPAs before development.

Shift scheduling with automatic compliance

Open shifts with rules inherited from contracts, conflict checks, alerts for noncompliant documentation, and traceable shift swaps with justification and acceptance.

Payments without rework

Automatic calculations based on geolocation check-in and check-out and contract rules. Ready to finalize payments without spreadsheets or errors.

Full auditability

Immutable logs with IP, date, author, and before/after records. Complete history by CPF, ready for an audit at any time.

Real-time control

Executive dashboard with visual alerts, notifications with delivery and read receipts, and monitoring of absences and expired documents.

Before

Shifts managed through spreadsheets and WhatsApp. Doctors with no predictable earnings. Hospitals with no visibility into schedules or control over payments.

After

A unified platform for both sides. Doctors with schedules, earnings, and documents in one app. Hospitals with a real-time dashboard and automatic payment reconciliation.

Two months. Two products. One system that works for both sides. Lots of craft, lots of AI, lots of testing, and lots of validation.
